It's January in San Diego. You all know what that means? Fresh citrus, care of your neighbors, co-workers, hell...even strangers. Picture a late July squash harvest in the midwest. There are so many oranges, blood oranges, and lemons that people are literally giving them away. What do you when someone gives you lemons? Sorry, no lemonade in this house. Try a good ole fashioned Whiskey Sour...from scratch!
Tennessee Sour
2 oz. Jack Daniel's whiskey
1 and 1/3 oz. freshly squeezed Meyer lemon juice
2/3 oz. simple syrup
1 inch piece of orange peel
Place all ingredients, with ice, into Boston shaker. Shake vigorously.
Strain into ice-filled glass and garnish with an orange slice.
